Curling3D HD App Reviews

Wow...

I thought this game was legit and all, but when I bought it, it said I couldnt play multiplayer unless I bought some 99 cents pack. This not only lets me down, but it also lets down the sport of curling. Nice job...

Excellent

Just like when watching the Olympics.

This...this is it!

I have all of the curling apps. This is it! Comfortable UI. Decent stone physics! Be nice if it supported upside down portrait.

The Norwegian Crazy Pants Sold Me

Like another reviewer, Ive tried all the curling apps, and finally, with this iPad version, got the curling game I wished to have since playing Age of Curling on my iPhone. The game is quite polished; certainly for one which isnt produced by one of the big gaming companies, like EA Sports, or Gameloft. On launching the app, you can choose between male or female player. Then your country of choice (the usual suspects are there), then it launches a brief, descriptive tutorial showing you how to use the stones or sweep the lanes. There are game sounds, like amusing jeers for a bad throw, or cheers for a really good move. The stone physics are the best Ive encountered in these apps, albeit not absolutely flawless. Comically, team sweepers dont step over the stones, but go over them. Just a detail. My only complaint would be about the tutorial, which launches each and every time you start a game. Forgivable, but would suggest that devs addressed that in an update. Suggestions include being to edit team colours/countries, as well as change of venues. The price is spot on. $2.99 is just right for a game of this calibre. Ive been playing it daily since buying it, the day it debuted -- yet if the developer really wants to fly up the charts, fire sale this game at 99 cents a month from now, and watch it get insane word of mouth.

5 stars but ..

I will give you 5 after you add championship, wodldcup, game center leaderboard or sth like that I think I play everyday for nothing ... ! Thanks for your awsome game.

Having fun throwing rocks

I really enjoy this game and am impressed with the computer player team you compete with. The AI that chooses their shots must be pretty sophisticated. Only one complaint/request for the developer... When you reach the end of an end and throw the hammer, the game never displays the final arrangement of stones like it does earlier to help you set up your shot. Instead you just get a score and never see all the stones in their final positions. Kind of frustrating especially if it may be close. Probably could be easily fixed in an app update...

Too hard

Really nice graphics, and probably good physics as well. Problem is, even is the easy mode this game is impossible. Needs some beginner assistance tools to help you get the hang of it.

Very nice curling app

This is a very nice curling app. I curl in real life and the physics seem very accurate. I do have a couple minor criticisms. I would love to get a skips eye view of the game as the stone is coming down the ice. It is hard to decide when to sweep when you cant see the oncoming stone in relation to those in the house. Also, the perspective from the hack makes it a little hard to aim. I would also love to see a depiction of the skip holding the broom when you are aiming. (In real life the skip holds her broom on the ice where she wants you to aim the stone). This would make aiming easier. I would also like the skip to be able to sweep an opponents stone once it is past the T-Line (another real life rule). Other than that this is a great curling simulation game. If you were to add a turn based asynchronous online multiplayer similar to Chess, or Words with Friends, I would gift this app to several friends that I play such games with.

Tricky Game, played on iPad

As a curler, I appreciate the details put into this challenging game. The only change to propose is the ability to sweep opponents stones in the house behind the T line, like in the game, as played on ice.

Emian

Seems very realistic. I have enjoyed playing it. I wish that when you finish an end that it could wait so the players can see the final layout of the stones for scoring. I would also like to see a blue-tooth or wi-fi link up to play against others. Very well done otherwise. Great job guys!

Great!!!

This game is great. Its easy to play and very realist

Needs work

The sensitivity of the power needs adjusting. Only about 10% of the range is usable, the rest is either too hard or soft. As a result you have to micromanage this aspect.

Good but needs improvement

The physics and options are best I have seen but ultimately the finicky controls make it too frustrating to play. Too many times I have spent much time and care lining up a shot just to have it all rendered useless as I lift my finger and a completely different wild shot goes instead. So frustrating!!!!

Needs a practice mode

Would speed up the game if you werent required to tap on the distance tab between shots. Would be nice to have practice mode.

Online mode....

Please, please, please, add Online mode!!! It gets old playing the computer. Would like to lay my friends who are also bored at work on the other side of the office! How do you expect us to get through the day at work!!

Cant throw with control

The update has rendered the game unplayable for me. When I tap and drag for direction and speed, the arrow disappears almost immediately. Bummer. Hope it gets fixed soon.

It was good until the last update

Cant play. The arrows disappear when trying to aim and curl. Deleting app until fixed.

Playing friends

I had my friends download this game so we could play each other- and for $5 (which is fairly expensive for a game) we are basically out that money. Please fix this ASAP. Especially since our "free multiplayer mode" only lasts a month.

Fix bugs

If you sweep on either side of the stone it makes it turn that way. You can make the stone zigzag down the ice please fix

Fun but multiplayer doesnt work

Fun game although multiplayer doesnt work
